New Defender Order - Discount?
Hi

First post on the forum. I've been for a test drive and have narrowed down the spec to a small list of extras on an S 110 5+2. The only thing I cant decide on is colour, but sure thats a nice problem to have.

I was really just wondering what sort of discount did others get on the list price? I've been offered 2% and 4% from two local dealers. Can I do better? I was looking at a few retailer items too namely second and third row seat covers. Would you expect a significant discount on these?

Thanks in advance
Adam.

I got 2% on my Dec 2020 order which arrived beginning of April - similar spec (S + bits) to what you're looking at Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Thanks for the reply. I have heard of 5-6% in some dealers, but I appreciate each dealer has different overheads/margins. 4% mightnt be too bad

Did anyone else get a discount, or did you pay list price? I havent bought a new car before, but have leased a few, so not really versed in how far to push for discounts Laughing

4.9% from dealer - using Drive The Deal as the bench mark

I suggest you start with DTD and then buy through them or use that price to negotiate with your dealer

I got 1.5% but we will not be able to agree the value of my FFRR trade in until my Defender arrives towards the end of the year so it may be an illusion.

I had no trade-in - if I'd took what they offered as compared to what i got through WBAC for my trade-in - I would have then been about 6% to the worse.... Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

6.45% via DTD. Dealer is 100miles away from me but I will have them deliver it on the back of trailer.

No P/EX.

I've been in touch with Marshall Military Sales who also handle blue light enquiries and they have told me that because of the high demand at the moment Land Rover have stopped them providing a discount on the Defender Big Cry They can give me discount on any other model including just over 16% for a Disco Sport! Not much good when you want a Defender Laughing I think I may have to try this Drive The Deal company and see what they can offer. Cheers Ian

I got £1k from my dealer for a 90 Hard Top, was hoping for more but happy with this if it's the best on offer.

I couldn't get close with my local dealer - in fact they were more expensive than the configurator for stock cars. DTD saved me around 8% albeit the dealer is 200 miles away (they'll deliver it on a trailer for free). Supposed to be with me on the 25th June.
