There’s a brand new sign written 90 in blue with white wheels and white roof and sides just appeared in our village. Local builder. Looks very distinctive. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

The sequential number element of your VIN gives an indication of how many new Defenders have actually been built.

Linking it to a date, and then comparing with the two other published figures retail sales and wholesale sales gives an indication to how many JLR have in internal inventory or are otherwise accounted for.

Good to know - where you getting that data from?

If we then were to take 2,500 off the chassis number we would arrive at a total build to end of March 2021 of 59,695.

Wholesale at end of March 2021 was 53,167.

That would leave 6,528 vehicles in JLR inventory or otherwise accounted for. That's 10.94% of the total built.

I assume we're talking about the last 6 digits?

if so then mine is 056nnn for a March 12th 2021 Build Date - not actually handed-over (i.e. sale) until 9th April 2021 (next quarter...)

I see TomekW's is 062nnn for a 12th April Build Date

So they pushed out about 6,000 between March 12th and April 12th Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

That looks fantastic, I really like the look of the steel wheels, ours (on order) will be identical except for a white roof.

Have you thought of a Grey roof wrap? I passed , going in the opposite direction, a Black 110 with a grey roof at the weekend and it looked smart, I’ve also seen a black 90 with a red wrapped roof. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!
