I haven't had the Gerry email, but the dealer has said that my Defender is being built on the 4th of June (described as forecasted for the 4th of June) and will be shipped to the UK for delivery end of June. Based on all of your comments on here, that sounds very optimistic - unless things are picking up. This is a Defender S D200 with a bunch of add ons. I haven't been told of a 'last time to change anything' date - so I suspect this is going to go back (it was ordered at the end of March).

Surely if there are severe delays with deliveries, we should be notified. I’ve also been given a delivery of last week in June. I have a vehicle going at a similar time. Mine was ordered in March with build date of 18th June and delivery to dealer 9th July. Now I don't want it until 1st September which they are OK about. They have said they have ordered an identical car to see if it will be available for 1st September in which case they'll sell my current order but they don't think it will be here until October 'ish
Mines a hardtop 90 with a bunch of options. |

Interesting - my company car gets handed back in October - so I need the Defender before then. Kinda makes sense for me to try and push back for a later pick up, but I don't want to run the risk of needing a stop gap if October becomes an impossibility.

My Hard Top will replace a 2018 L405 Range Rover that I've had for almost a year. I've just sold that to a dealer for £1k less after 11 months and 10k miles, I hope the Defender keeps this level of depreciation but I fear not esp Hard Tops.
My first company vehicle for many years and looking forward to no direct costs every month. |

I’ve had a Disco 4 XS commercial in the past and when I traded it in it was only a couple grand shy of a standard model .
So I’m hoping the residuals won’t be too bad when or even if I sell the hard top. I know the Disco 4 was coming to an end when I traded it, and I think there will be more hard top models sold than Disco commercials but I still think they will do ok. I too will be running my hard top through the business. I think JLR are being over cautious with there 10k difference on PCP between hard top and standard. So could be good results if you have a PCP on a hard top Cheers Simon I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you 1990 110 TD5 county, my first Land Rover - gone 2012 Discovery 4 XS SDV6 - gone 2014 Discovery 4 XS SDV6 - gone 2015 Evoque SD4 dynamic - Wife’s - gone 2015 Urban Truck 90 XS Santorini Black Hard Top - Reluctantly gone 2020 Discovery 5 Eiger Grey 3.0 SE - gone March 24 2021 Defender S D250 Santorini Black 110 HT - gone March 24 2023 Evoque P300e SE wife’s current vehicle |

Hi,
I've been waiting 2 weeks today. Not a sausage. Anybody had any updates recently or news on delays? I was told to expect the car in September. Is that unlikely? |

Been waiting 6 weeks buddy.... still nothing
I think there’s no chance of dealers delivering when they have promised. |

I emailed my dealer this week, wanted to add a couple of last minute options, you know idle hands and the configurator tool, nothing show stopping.
Got to kill the loooong delivery time somehow. He replied to say it was now past the date of amendment. I hope that means I am still on track for end of June delivery. No mention of any delays or stopped production or microchips. Lack of comms in the early post-order period was my experience too. Got a call yesterday to remind me that last spec amendment was coming up on Monday (ordered early March). So far everything is on track with estimated dates (touch wood) and delivery should be late June/early July. No mention of shortages/delays even with bigger screen.
And did I revise my spec after that call? Of course I did. Went from D250 to D300. |

Ok, so it sounds like a lack of communication and a long wait are pretty normal. Better not start planning any road trips yet and wait till I’ve got something more concrete.
Good to know I’m not on my own. Thanks guys. |
