Goodmorning all.
So, we finally took the plunge and bought a 2007 Puma Defender. 290000 km on the clock. What would be your main concern when looking at these photos? Anything you would be worried about? Drives great, starts easily. No crazy noices that I can hear as a newbie… Photos are attached to the message. |

No photos on message? Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.
5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

Nice Defender.
As a start check or better replace all oils, gearbox, tcase, axels, swivels and steering. Then a good steam wash to get all the oily stuff clean.. take it for a short spin and re check for fresh oil leaks. This way is easier to pinpoint any source of leaks. Then and probably more important corrosion. I am not very knowledgeable on 110s, but some areas need closer inspection, like seatbelt mounts, and C pillar. They all suffer from galvanic corrosion. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

Thanks. The items you mentioned are indeed on my to do list. As is an anti corrosion treatment. Thanks for your input.

As Dinnu says, plus I would change all the suspension bushes before doing the anti rust wax - less messy that way.
Timing chain as well? Good luck. Keith |
