C2C with 5th Gear
Last Friday whilst at the Peterborough show got a phone call from Fifth Gear about the green lane coast to coast route. Was rather too busy to speak to them as had other things to do!

Come Monday the emails/phone calls started to fly. Sent them our club route (done by Kingsom) to them on Memory Map, except they did not have Memory Map Rolling with laughter Next they wanted to film it in one day using a Hyhundai Santa Fe (google it if you want a laugh) Told them it took us 2 days driving 7 hours/day.

So it got changed to two days and a Lada Niva. Next worry was the hired D4 camera car would that get scratched?? Errr yes but we will ensure that it misses the more scratchy sections! It only picked up a few minor scratches on the alloys.

On Wednesday, 2 days after the first real contact Kingsom and I met them at St Bees, with Barbara joining us on Thursday at Barnard Castle. If you get involved with a film crew ensure you have plenty of patience/things to do. iPads rule! Thumbs Up

Lets just say all vehicles made it OK.

The film will be part o a programme to be broadcasted late Oct/early Nov

Hopefully it will come over as responsible greenlaning.

Awww, St Bees is about 3 miles from my house... if I'd known about that I'd have come along to watch!

Oh yes filming work is very very tedious, i have not got the patience, done some stuff with cranes for channel 4 Time Team and Grand Designs, getting someone to make a descision is half the battle If everything is under control you are not going fast enough.
