I used some poleurathene epoxy (as it was inside/outside (small part of the garage floor goes outside)
Was a case of cleaning well the floor (opening up the surface with a Diamond grinder (hired one) Then fill the gaps with a caulk that was ok for the epoxy, smoothing that (gaps were expansion points in the floor) filling small cracks with the above. Wetting the floor and letting dry for a couple of days Sweeping Paint the first coat (thinned down a little with thinner) wait till next day, paint the next coat (no thinning) Run out of paint close to the end and then quickly get more) Finish the floor Wait for 48 hours to it to dry. I have dropped jacks, had tow trucks drop there loader part on it, all not a scrape (that I can see) and as others have pointed out, just a bit of water, and its clean again. Cost was prob about £1000 (paint was 600, hire of machine 200, and then the caulk was prob close to 150) and some new paint brushes as the ones I used could not be cleaned totally. Size about 150m2 (just to give idea) Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing. 5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

Ive just finished mine last weekend. It is the second garage ive done with the same system. Five litres of Leyland hard wearing floor paint. Available from B & Q, enough for 2 coats of a single garage. The previous garage is now 14 years old and going great. no chips or flaking. Cheap and easy.

Did you need to do any prep before applying or literally just brush down and Hoover and then roller it on? |
