I'm not quite sure what you're expecting to find in the wheel arch, but the big grey plug (for the standard 12N connection) is the only thing provided on my '07 Defender. The 12S kit as I recall has more complex wiring to various point on the vehicle, including the need for an ignition-on, relay controlled feed from the dash area.
There is no 12S connector, as such, only the 12N. |

There should be a plug off the back of the 12n loom to plug the 12s into but can’t find anything other than a big purple wire with no pin in the grey multi plug

Hello Griff,
The purple wire is the permanent 12v supply, fused I think at 20amps. Thai should be part of the car loom and continue through the 12s wiring loom. All other spare 12s wires need wiring into the vehicle by you. The white wires, with or without marker colour should be earths. Then the wires going to pins 9 & 10, need to go to the battery box, and connected to permanent live, and ignition live respectively, although, on a kit I’ve installed, the purple wire does go through the grey plug, to give this permanent live. Here are the full installation instructions for the Bearmach kit. https://www.pfjones.co.uk/pfjoneswiringkit..._01-99.pdf Hope this all makes sense to you, Cheers Ashbyandy 👍 |

Sorry Griff,
I’ve shown you the wiring for the 13 pin. If you are wiring 12s, alongside your 12n, then all wiring will need to be extended by yourself. There is no 12s socket in the vehicle wiring loom. The purple wire though is still permanent 12v, and can be used, Cheers Ashbyandy Ps, all as stated y Blackwolf in above post |
