1992 Defender 130 200 Tdi HCPU Chawton White

Quick updates on Bertha, found a few and not surprising issues:
- Leaking fuel tank when it's full, has now stopped as the level has dropped, could be 'mouse' related as I'm out in the sticks
- I was getting water come into the back, around where the pop-up roof is fitted. So last weekend I completely cleaned the roof (soap and water, followed by alcohol based cleaner, then removed all of the sealant, before then using tape specifically designed for 'caravans' before treating the whole roof with 'Leak seal' a rubber based clear paint, takes 5 days or so to fully harden

Not tested it yet to see if it's worked, but has hopefully done the job.

DO you know any of the history of the ambulance, who it was used with originally etc?
We used to have a 'J' reg battlefield ambo but was a V8 not a Tdi.

It was manufactured originally as a Mountain rescue ambulance, with coachwork originally by MMB Macclesfield (no longer in business)

I have a bit of history with it and also trying to do my own research

@Iggy - some more info on your truck:

"Brief history: In 2001 our team doctor had discovered the then Durham ambulance service had a purpose built 130 ambulance landrover which was parked at their Barnard Castle ambulance station. It was not in use at the time.

The team entered into negotiations with the ambulance service and eventually were successful, however we didn’t realise it was going to be supplied complete with medical equipment i.e. oxygen, suction pumps etc.

It saw service up until 2010 and during that time was remarkably reliable for a Landover and many casualties were treated and transported in it."
