Excellent. I was very underwhelmed by the 240 on a test drive. Got a D300 and it’s in a different league. Enjoy. 👍 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

Purely because of the extra horsepower? Or is it because of the 6 vs 4 cylinder?

Probably an element of both deaston, although I’d got history with X6’s, GLE’s and Touaregs, I accepted the fact that the four original Defenders I’d had were slow, unresponsive and even mapping helped, but it was what it was!
The L663 needs a 6 cylinder in my opinion, I would imagine even the D250 6 pot is decent......but I wanted 300bhp 😈😊🤣 |

Agreed definitely 6 cylinder for Defender.
Congrats on your Second, Huntsman. I’m waiting for my first! Did you order it immediately after collecting your first one? I had a D180 Velar (which I assume was 4-cylinder). Absolutely terrible. Slow acceleration and sounded very strained when you asked it to do anything other than cruise. I'll not make that mistake again! I always thought 4-cylinder in the Defender was a mistake and it was only once they announced the 6-cylinder that I decided to buy. |

Thank you 🙏🏼
No, I knew the 6 cylinder was in the pipeline last year as a couple of friends work in the R&D dept at LR and they were testing it mid last year. I’m impatient and knew I had to have an L663 as days out, especially green laning in my Puma was taking its toll on my joints (getting an old git now 🤣) so I found the D240 First Edition for the interim period, waiting to see what, if any Brexit tariff may have an effect on the RRP (there was talk of a 10.4% tariff on imports 🤯🤷🏼♂️ I finally decided my spec, and ordered the HSE D300 X-Dynamic in December having given the FE a few months to make sure I couldn’t live it. 🤦♂️ Andy |

I had the D240 in the Velar, far better suited than the single turbo 180. The 3.0 D200 goes like a rocket, so those waiting for the 300 are in for a treat. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue |

Agreed. Loving the 3 litre D200 already. It has same torque as the older 4 pot D240. And it sounds lush! Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

The D300 is a sports Defender. Never experienced this before. It's faster as my RR Vogue 4.4 SDV8 of 2017 and if feels so much lighter and responsive and it keeps the road.
This is a champions league car!!! Have D90 300 HSE Y22 with air suspension. I lost a BMW X6 when leaving at the red lights last week. Oeps. |

My dad feels the same way about his first edition.
I have drove it and was a bit disappointed and the engine note and how much I had to rev it to get it to go. |

Also agree and wasn't surprised when they dropped the engine
