Jez and I would be up for it if it were a Sunday. Both our Defenders are 'away' at the moment (as you know Whistle ). Salisbury is only a jaunt down the 34!

We're sponsoring the L2B (Inc best 110 incidentally) so no good that weekend sadly.

Are you guys okay for the 9th? And are you in one or two vehicles?

Sadly it's a no from me...... Mother is visiting and it's the only weekend she can do for quite some time. Rolling Eyes

Would love to come along on the next one, so keep us posted.

I'm sure I will be doing something over the winter, sorry you can't make it. Do you know if Jez is coming? 2011 110 USW

I'm quite sure the lanes and fords planned are all non-damaging, at least nothing that will cause dents. I am checking one out tomorrow to see what condition its in as it was a bit overgrown last time I drove it.

James mentioning Salisbury has got me thinking of a trip down that way but I do not know the lanes in that area, would anyone be up for leading, I would love to come along.

Cheers,

Would be happy to do so. Jez and I are down there fairly often and know which bits to avoid for risk of body damage. Fortunately most of it open with very few lanes with much scratchy foliage to worry about.

We usually start in Marlborough and work our way down taking in a few sights such as the German Village (where Top Gear filmed a SLK AMG shoot-out), VA's crossing (see Disco3.co.uk) and the Honeydown Range where the horizon is scattered with blown up tanks and Stally where they've been practicing.

Just getting to the time of year where you can have fun and get a bit muddy without risking any damage.

Just spotted Bens reply.............

Depending on numbers it's healthy to split into groups of 5 (some say 7), therefore Ben could give Jez and I the route and we can take 3 groups meeting a pre-agreed interesting points.

I'm abroad then and he is away too I think.

I went out to check a lane with Ben J85 today and I don't think its doable unless people can live with scratches, its very slippy and overgrown so I think we will have to pass. This does mean we only have one decent lane to do which is up near Banbury, so Ben and I are suggesting that if there is enough interest we do that one and then maybe just head to the plain? 2011 110 USW

That's the trouble with this time of year, most lanes are quite overgrown. The good thing about Sailsbury is that the majority of it is open and not enclosed by foliage.

Yes we were talking about that today. The one near Banbury is very open though. 2011 110 USW

If we're still talking 9th Oct for round 1, then I'm happy to go with the flow Thumbs Up

For what it's worth.....have no issues with the risk of a few scratches Smile Jon - 110 td5 [sold]. Currently Defenderless.

Sorry James, that wasn't filmed on SPTA, but at STANTA, Stanford training area, in Norfolk.

Looks very similar to Copehill down FIBUA though out on the 'plain.

Both STANTA and SPTA FIBUA villages now have additional "Afghan" area's, mainly around the outside of the Village itself. The one on STANTA has been wired into the control room so they can play the sounds and set the pyro off as and when required. 2002 Defender 110 DC
