Defender Upgrades: - Fixed side windows
Does anyone have any experience of these?

I'm weighing up whether to replace the seals / felt on the sliding windows (plus tinting them while they're out) or to just get a pair of these:

https://defenderupgrades.co.uk/product/lan...ted-glass/

It's a CSW; so basically a greenhouse and during the summer it gets hotter than a (insert your favorite metaphor) Laughing .

I'd also get a pair of these:

https://defenderupgrades.co.uk/product/def...oof-glass/

And tint the quarter windows (replacing the seal with https://www.landroverdefendersecurity.com/...w-guards).

With the above, is it likely to be much cooler? Is there anything else worth while doing? 2011 CSW XS 90

There is a part number for a fixed glass pane that replaces the sliding rear windows on a CSW, which is fixed in with rubber seals similar to used on the alpine / rear windows, see:

The LR standard glass is about £50/side but you may need to pay extra for tinted versions. When you order the seal you may need to get 'wider' lips to cover the rivet holes as well. If you fit it with the filler strip on the inside it stops someone removing it and popping the glass out, but it's probably not as secure as the frames you listed (but at that point, they will probably just chuck a brick through the window if they are that motivated!

I have just replaced my sliding windows in a 99' TD5 with ones from VGS and fitted OK. I needed to drill new holes for the new rivets.

Cheers both!

I had looked to see whether I could replace the sliding with a fixed piece, but couldn't see whether it would have worked.

Priced up converting to fixed using genuine parts and comes in at ~£280 + plus the cost of tinting.

I'm not keen on the idea of drilling the body, so I'll give that route a go!

Has anyone had any luck tinting the rear window? I've been told it can look a bit Censored if you're not careful as you've got the heating element. 2011 CSW XS 90

I didn't want to drill but had to. I think the later ones, the Puma windows, are these bonded in ?
Maybe an email to VGS with some questions might yield some results for you ? 1999 Defender TD5 110
