These look pretty cool, a campfire that can charge your phone!

This is the type of accessory Land Rover should be selling. Would go well with the Defender image. Hell, they might even give one free with every new replacement Defender sold from 2015, just to let buyers think they really could do the outdoorsy stuff that Defender ownership conjures up. 1982 88" 2.25 diesel

yes its very nifty, but really, I dont get it. it solves a problem that doesnt exist.
need a brew when out in your vehicle? jet boil need to charge your phone? plug it in to the cig lighter or maybe youre hard wired anyway (like mine is) out in the wilds with no vehicle? take a power monkey or a solar charger, more useful and not reliant on having dry tinder and combustible fuel with you. if its ![]() sorry fellas, this is the emperors new clothes. |

As an avid pyro I have a near identical stove, TBH they are useless for anything but water as you can't regulate the heat with such small bits of kindling, additionally top loading isn't very good when you have a hot kettle/pan on top.
If you want a good brew and like making small fires then a honey stove is a much more versatile product IMO, probably much cheaper too. |

they do have a larger model that is fed from the side, a 'family' model if you like.

Can someone please explain this, beyond their cartoon of a coil spring with two wires connecting it to a propellor?
All it says is it "converts thermal energy in to electricity"....ok, how? |

It uses a thermocouple to convert heat into electricity

Enough to charge a phone? I remain unconvinced.

it'll charge it, just not very fast. the other thing is that to charge the phone you will have to keep on feeding the fire. on...and on...and on.
