Ok, my Google-foo has failed me. I can either pay £80 for genuine LR of £8 for Britpart/Bearmach. Seems there’s some room in the market for a decent mid priced product. I have seen that Unitruck do some UK made ones but comments on other threads are not favourable.
Does anyone know of any mirror heads that are cheaper than LR, but not utter garbage? 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

I believe Britax are now part of ECCO
https://www.eccoesg.co.uk/gb/en/products/Mirrors Their website is useless a mirror product search does not route to a catalogue or product list, seems they did not really want to mirror business, I guess it’s the lights / beacon business they wanted. 130 Puma HCPU with an Artica 240LR Demountable Camper |

Consider spafax wide angle as a replacement. They're superb.

RFT - Thanks for pointing out the parent company of Britax, that was a help. The mirrors/arms are still available, but they list them as a universal fit item with stuff buses etc. As a result I've managed to find someone claiming to sell new genuine Britax complete mirror and arm assembly for under £50, which is a fraction of prices elsewhere. I've ordered and I'll see what actually turns up, but if its legit I'll post a link here. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Just to close this thread. I ordered a pair of what should have been Britax brand mirrors and arms from a company called Commercial Vehicle Products who are a Britax reseller. They were £85 delivered which seems reasonable. They weren’t a stock item so the guy ordered them from Britax for me and they took a couple of weeks to come. The items that came were Ecco brand which is Britax’s parent company as mentioned above. On comparing them to the factory Britax ones that I removed, they are not the exactly same. Different e-marking on the mirror heads and the arms don’t have the same casting marks or numbers in the hollow underneath. The quality looks decent though, so only time will tell on that front.
I bought a super cheap Bearmach mirror head to tide me over until the Britax/Ecco ones got here, and it has weird super convex glass and the clamping fork underneath has barely whiff of paint with bare metal showing so that’ll be going in the bin. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |
