What I picked up my last new, well pre-registered, car I didn’t get anything apart from the floor mats I managed to haggle in. And about 10l of diesel. But wasn’t complaining as got a 32%/10k discount, that buys a lot of flowers, pens and diesel. Mr. Green Mr. Green

So, latest. Car was finally found at Killingholme this morning (giant car park at port on Humber), LR f@@ked up and dealership were unable to extract it for March delivery. Because of Easter, it cannot be got to dealership until Tuesday and will be ready by Wednesday. Salesman answered all my 'disappointed' questions to my satisfaction with much apologising. He mentioned an 'LR sweetener' that would be coming my way. (Best not be mats) So Wednesday 7th is the new date.

Reading this is exactly why I'm not chasing my dealer. No amount of phone calls and emails will make my car arrive any quicker, but trying to get dates and promises out of the dealer will just set me up for disappointment.

I had a call from my dealer yesterday and he said it'll possibly be next week, but I'm not holding my breath. It'll be a nice surprise when I get the call saying it's ready to collect.

True that. Why build yourself up for a fall . It is what it is. It will be built when it’s built, you’ll receive it when it’s ready. What a nice feeling it will be when you get the call.........still want mine tomorrow! (Estimated June, probably August delivery. Ordered March) Cheers Simon

All I got was a box with the 2 keys and 2 keyrings... not even a pen... nice presentation box.

Did have half a tank of fuel though... which I appreciated more than flowers.

Wife was disapointed.

(Story of her life)

I got half a tank of fuel as well, but I was charged for it. Check your order form.

No just checked - nothing on the invoice..

As I've said this wasn't me setting myself up for a fall, it was the dealership. When they ring you up and say what day do you want? What are you supposed to do? Ignore it? Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Tomorrow afternoon allegedly... 99 days since the day I signed the IPAD on 30th December.

So Derek in all of those 99 days you have been sat on the fence umming and ahhing and trying to justify one to you and Mrs DSL. Isn't about time you made that final push? Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Well you're doing better than me! I signed and paid my deposit on 18 December and at the moment all I know is that it's in the country. No word yet of any handover.
