Johnny,
Thanks for that, all helps to put renewed pressure on this dealership.
Clearly not all dealers sing off the same songsheet in their responses to this clear problem with the PUMA lump.

Well as sure as eggs are eggs, the fault appeared again today.
I called out Land Rover Assist who came out and found the P1169 fault, left it, and cleared it so I could drive it to the dealership, where it will remain until they resolve the issue.
As stated before, the upgrade to this fault was done last January, but is still there on the fuel rail.
Got a DISCOVERY 4 for a few days, bring me back my Defender, makes you feel sick after 10 miles rolling about on a whoopy cushion Laughing
Will keep you posted for those that are interested or those that haven't had the fault appear yet!! Wink

Gil if you have problems with Marshalls getting stuff sorted, give Hunters(Kings Lynn) a try. Always been very good with my issues. Depending upon which part of Cambs you live but maybe worth the trip.

Mark,
Cheers for that, yes felt they were more customer orientated when I met them at the Norfolk Show this year.
I am dead centre so its no worries from here.

Gil,

I can also vouch for Hunters in Lynn, they do seem Defender friendly and offer a reasonable personal touch.

Worth a try. Richard

Either a 90, 110 or 130.

I bought a couple of vehicles from Hunters @ Lynn a few years ago and would place them in the 'ok' bracket. Since Lookers left bury I'm 35 - 50 miles from all the main dealers now, that said Marshalls have a service centre in Bury that will undertake warranty work. Steve.
Owned numerous Land Rover vehicles of all shapes and sizes over the decades.
Current Defender: A non tarts hand-bagged Puma 110 XS USW.

Just picked up the L/R and they have completely renewed the FUEL RAIL. Can't wait to give it a cold start run in the morning.
Took the bloody awful loan Discovery back, and water was pouring in from the seal of the internal mirror dropping on the screen of the SAT/NAV/Radio......now that doesn't work either. Oh well keeps them all busy Wink

Well here we go again. I told you they replaced the fuel rail after the P1169 code kept continually coming up after cold start and speed loss, well Saturday morning started her up sounded like a bag full of spanners again, a sound I have become accustomed to hearing just before the Engine Management light illuminated again as it did in the past.
Its still under warranty so guess where its going back to Monday for a health check again.
It did clear the light after the usual 3 turns on and off of the ignition, so must be another fault somewhere in the ECU perhaps!!
Will keep those interested updated on what they find this time.
Still a beautiful beast even though she causes me to miss a beat once in a while!!! Big Cry

Yes it is Whistle But the Puma runs like a little sweetie on this version. The up to date version is 7H12-12K532-FDE. And your version will be 7H12-12K532-BDE. Did we not recently have this conversation on another forum Confused

I have had this fault reoccur after the fuel rail was replaced the first time but only with the OEM fuel file and not with the remap on. Did you manage to get the software version you are running?

Landrover service came out after a cold start again this morning and pulling away and losing power.
This time once they plugged in found:

1.P0089-7A Fuel pressure regulator performance
2.P1169 Fuel Rail in range
3.P0088-07 Fuel Rail Pressure to high

Off to my dealership again to pick up another whoopee cushion on wheels......Disco for them to resolve the issue.
The guy stated they had been made aware recently about the tank breather pipe having to be placed behind panels as water was getting into many Puma tanks, also a possible problem where water was getting in through the key hole on the filler cap.

Me thinks it is all Censored .......... Whistle
Its a fuel rail delivery problem in my submission, because as I pulled away on cold start, great for 100 yards, took my foot off the accelerator and the revs overran as I braked and foot off the pedal, then the box of spanners started and threw up the EM light again......grrrrrrrrrrr
More installments when I get to the bottom of it all!!
