Fitting after market radio to 06 Defender

Safe to say after a month of having my new defender the tone of the engine has lost its novelty and I feel it’s time to final get around to fitting a new radio. Unfortunately the previous owner seemed to take everything with him leaving me with a rather large gap in my dash. From what I can gather the space would be unable to fit a double din unit and I need a mounting system for a single din. After hours going online I’ve found it near impossible to find the thing I’m looking for. Anyone had this issue before it so what product did you use or what mounting system did you make.

Sorry didn’t upload the photo properly. It’s basically missing the radio bezel which seems to be impossible to find online in stock or any after market alternatives

2015 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 XS CSW Aintree Green

Hi, Mud UK do a double din size dash face for the 2002 to 2006 Td5.
It can be converted to a single din size by fitting a pocket below the radio.
It's not cheap, but as you found out, the LR part is not available.

They also do these steel plates that fasten to the original plastic face.
This one is more discrete and neater than the full size plates from other brands, that have too many screws for my liking.
