I binned the spare off the door months ago - mine is a working vehicle and I’m in and out of the rear door all the time and like the old rattle box the wheel and tyre get in the way and sticks out inviting you to reverse into stuff with it!

Haven’t blanked the holes yet on mine but I was thinking of making a shallow storage box or fold down work bench..
