Prep work continues - I have been clearing sh*t out of the garage erady for the arrival, not to get the car INTO the garage (I think its too tall, I could never get a D3 in it, even without a rack) - but to create the space for a new tyre mountain.

I had 2 tyres and a tyre/rim in a "tyre-hill" left from disco 3 days - 2x 18" Wranger tyres with about 6mm on them have been given to a local primary school, and the tyre/rim with an 18" P Zero (of only 150 miles use) will be retained as the ulitimate emergency spare (I know its 2" less diameter, but as 2nd energency spare it'll be ok)

This survivor will be joined by a set of 19" Duratracs I have acquired and will be picking up in the next week or so in a new tyre mountain - I will probably just swap them onto the as-delivered rims ASAP - original plan was to stick them on a set of cheapo RR SPort 19" rims but spending has exhausted SWMBO's tolerance on discretionary spend at the mo... Awesome - I'd forgotten how bad you got it Derek, that's more a Tyre Mountain Range!!! Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Is that a couple of MTR's top left?

Latest addition to the ever growing Defender pile in the garage is a rear seat protector to keep muddy dogs paws off the back seat (even though it appears it won't have cloth in it) - just a cheapo one of Amazon for less than £25 - unlike many, none of my little monsters has ever gone in the load space, especially this one!

Top left was indeed MTRs, I had 2 sets of 5 at the time. I did have a pic of all 10 of them in a similar stack but can’t find it. And that was supposed to be the dining room! Laughing Laughing Those were the heady days of Double Disco ownership. Thumbs Up

Mind you, old habits die hard, started the tyre collection for Skippy and looking for another set of rims for Michelin Latitude Cross tyres for off tarmac use in Scandinavia. Assuming I ever get back there and don’t get a Defender. Whistle

Have you got a Citroen 2CV hiding somewhere? I only ask as you seem to have a pair of wheels for one there... Rolling with laughter Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Space saver for Skippy on the left and an old Jazz space save on left. Simples. Plus an couple of rims without tyres waiting on me buying another set so I can have 5 17” Skippy rims with LatCross tyres. I like to have a spare with same tyre type when doing long hauls in the UK or are almost 3,000 miles from home. Thumbs Up

:D :D :D

I am getting none of this sort of stuff! All I know (from a call from the salesman) is mine was built last week. No idea of handover other than "probably early to mid April".

So the gap from 'salesman call' saying car built to email from LR was 6 days for me
I suspect there are different internal triggers to this, this is my view:
The salesman call will be triggered by him checking on Vista for status updates (based on hopefully him keeping a log of expected built dates somewhere and checking they've been met)
And the LR Email being triggered automagically by the the vehicle actually moving from Factory to the next stage, which may or may not be the same Vista status flag that the salesman sees.

On FB I think we identified 6 people who all had the same 12/3 build date, but the LR emails for them have been arriving at different days all week. You may get your email later today. Or not.

Out of interest where in the UK are you? My dealership is Guy Salmon in Stockport. Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

I'm dealing with a very pleasant chap at Lancaster LR Milton Keynes. I'm not local to them, but my local Land Rover dealership were particularly unwelcoming, vague, lacking in knowledge and didn't return calls, so I steered clear.
