Nice, the S I think is a well balanced spec, has all the basics covered. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue |

Mine should be the following week, though they said it may appear before then. It’s worked out well, as my company has asked if I wouldn’t mind bringing a week of my holidays forward to the end of March. So I get a week off to play with it. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue |

That sounds good! Our planned trip early May has been cancelled, Hotel not opening for another 3 weeks. We have had it booked for 2 years so will need to find somewhere else for road trip, might get a Taxi sign for the roof. Got to get 2000 miles under bonnet before I can tow. #stickingtotherules 90S D250 fuji and loving it.

Excuse my ignorance but why 2,000 miles before you can tow?

There’s no rule about mileage before towing. I drove mine straight from collection at the dealer to collect a trailer and then back over the next day to pick up my other Defender.
Working a diesel engine properly is good for it, especially when breaking in. |

OK, i just checked the Running-in on the Iguide, agree it doesn't say you cannot tow within 2k. (Guess I picked that myth up somewhere else) Saying that not many know about the 2000 miles off-road clause. I will still be giving it a decent number of miles before hitching up. 90S D250 fuji and loving it.

There’s a 2000 miles run in period...

Re the last point, seriously? Do they drive the LRE cars round and round and round the M25 (as required) to get them up to 2,000 miles before taking them out in the gloop?

This is why I was being careful with mine because you can bet the dealerships will try wriggle out of warranty work if they think or know you haven’t done the run in period.

ISTR I was off-roading in my D3, properly, within a couple of hundred miles of new. The only problem my dealer had with warranty work was the mess she would leave on the workshop floor!
She even looked shiny! Last edited by DSL on 17th Mar 2021 7:40pm. Edited 1 time in total |

There’s no way they could know that you haven’t, unless you tell them.

They would have known re mine as the odometer wasn’t into 4 digits and my washing skills are not exactly legendary.
