Question re black pack / trim
Hi guys

Great forum you have got going here.

I am looking at getting a new Defender and slowly finding a spec I am settling at! The one thing I can't seem to workout is which pack gives you the full black exterior. I am looking to buy a black defender but really don't want the silver trim where the number plates sit front and back. I have noticed some dealers are advertising new stock with all black bumpers and others have silver. I can only seem to access silver when building on the website.

Any help much appreciated! Thumbs Up

Tom.

X Dynamic gives you the gloss black sides and bumper corners as standard and the extended black pack for 22MY adds the full gloss black front and rear bumpers from the factory Thumbs Up

Thanks Andy!

Is the extended black pack only available on X Dynamic?

I think I need to do some more reading as to what extra you actually get with the Dynamic as it doesn't seem very clear on the website builder!

Been there and done it to death Laughing

X Dynamic basically gives you the gloss back sides and the Windsor leather seats with Robustic fabric edges and then opens up the option of the extended black pack as described above. X Dynamic is also the only version that offers the dark grey cross beam as found as standard on the X and V8. This dark grey cross beam was a non-negotiable for my wife so that then forced my hand into choosing only an X Dynamic version.

Gloss black sides led to extended gloss black pack which then led to agreeing a price with the dealer to gloss black the extended arches on the explorer pack Big Cry

Haha, thanks that is very helpful.

The reason I have delayed things is that we had a D240 4 cylinder in a Discovery and didn't get on with it after many years of running them with 3.0l's 6 cylinder. We are keen to try a D250 but I don't think you can test drive at the moment can you and I am struggling to find any review videos online too! I will just have to be patient Crying or Very sad

You can test drive but you won’t get long and no salesman with you - I got 15 minutes in a D200 last June and was told if I took for more than 15 minutes the car had to have a deep clean and then quarantined for 3 days........ 15 minutes was more than enough to show me that the 4cylinder D200 wasn’t for me! Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

I got three hour last August. People have had 48-hour test drives. Don’t let the dealer fob you off, and if they won’t give you one then go elsewhere.

I got a 3 hour drive in a 110, I haven’t driven a 90 let alone one on coils.

Shouldn’t be an issue to get a test drive. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue
