"The Land Rover Defender kit, designed for MY20 vehicles onwards, includes either a pair of Triple-R 750 or a single Triple-R 1250 High Performance LED driving lights, plus wiring kit, alongside 4x brackets precision-engineered to engage perfectly with the standard lower grille on the vehicle, with added strength and security provided by the supplied self-tapping, anti-theft screws. Made from ASA material, known for its excellent strength and UV stability, the brackets are fully weather and chemical resistant to ensure your installation remains in great condition year after year.

Supplied alongside the mounting brackets are a set of cutting guides, designed to facilitate the installation and ensure a perfect fit everytime.

Lazer Grille Integration Kits are optimised for use with Triple-R 750 or 1250 High Performance LED driving lights.

Where the vehicle has Xenon or LED headlights as standard, it may not be possible to detect a 12V high beam signal. In these instances it will be necessary to complete the electrical installation using a Lazer CAN Interface.

How do these work with Matrix Headlights that don’t dip but change the shape of the beams to avoid dazzling oncoming drivers? Even with an oncoming car the blue main beam icon light on my car’s dash never goes out and I’ve never had oncoming drivers flash their lights at night in complaint that I’m dazzling them. Also you might not be able to fit these if you have the OEM Winch Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

I really like the look of this fitment, would be interested to see how well it works with the matrix lights. Also wonder if it would cause any cooling issues in really warm weather?

I'd be a little worried on the fittment.

Drilling a 3.5mm hole in the web of the grill and using a self tapping screw doesn't inspire confidence both from a durability and theft standpoint (Picture 3, circled in green).

I'd rather there was a spacer/load plate behind the grill and it was bolted through.

But I think I can almost hear the aerodynamic engineer who did the cooling fluid dynamics on the new defender crying into his morning coffee having spent 3 years of his life designing the perfect blend of aerodynamic capability and cooling air flow only for someone to do a kit to block it up with an ally oblong air dam Rolling with laughter

That said.... I'd have one. Very Happy

Nit road legal in some states where uncovered led bars of any kind are illegal on road. Maybe ok in Europe, but US state laws are a very mixed bag.

Wow, given what appears to go there in so many different areas of auto legislation, that is surprising.

When you say uncovered, is there a covered version that would be legal; and what is meant by uncovered?

I think it’s as simple as it requires a plastic cover over the light when on road.

Looking on the lazer site it looks like they have removal plug that allows the light to be configured in an “e mode” for approved European road use which is quite a nice touch.

They also look to include switches in the fitting kit so it can be enabled and disabled but guessing that might not be enough to keep the US laws happy?

I have a Lazer Linear 18 Elite on my D3 which I was going to swap to the new Defender, but the fitting kit for that looks a bit awkward and renders the light unit vulnerable.

Having read the instructions, this is at least bolted and riveted to the car!

How does the law work? If your car is registered in State ‘A’ where an addition like this is legal, can you drive in State ‘B’ just across the border, as you’re not registered there, or are you banned from entering and will be stopped by the Five-0 and either have your car impounded or be escorted to state lines? In Europe, it’s very ambiguous, because the UK has some very relaxed laws when compared to France, yet you remain entitled to drive in France, (or Spain, Germany, Italy or any other EU country where your car flouts local laws), with relative impunity. Just wondering if the US works like this as well? Monsieur Le Grenadier

You’re subject to the laws where you are driving. Doesn’t matter if it’s legal where you are registered; you can be stopped just for driving in a state where it’s illegal. There are very few states where led light bars are legal for on road use at any time. That doesn’t mean people don’t break the law all the time, but if you come over a hill and blind a cop with these, it’s going to cost you.
