Order placed, so I think I can join now!
Hey folks, well I’ve done it. My order is in. I currently have a Discovery 5 SDv6, before that a RRS and an Evoque (Evoque was my first LR).

So my order is a Defender 90 V8 Carpathian Edition with the larger screen and tracker pro. Indicated a July delivery but I expect it to be later based on all the recent delays.

I just had to. That engine in that car. Can’t wait.

What size wheels did you spec?

It comes with black 22’s. I think they picked black because it goes with the black bonnet, roof and boot door. The non-Carpathian Edition has grey 22’s which look nice, but I’m going to wait and see some more pictures before I decide to change to them.

There’s also a no cost option to spec 20” 5098 wheels on it. Not seen any photos of the V8 with them on but they are much better size for A/T tyre choice and for taking the defender off road.

Quite right Digger and I’m going to take that set from dealer as one of the dealer options. I commute to London so through the week I want road tyres but there is no way this things isn’t going for a trek in the mud and the 22’s won’t cut it for that.

Deffo needs video rather than pics. Just so we can play it with the volume up loud. Thumbs Up

I wanted the engine so really pleased. The dealer said they had an allocation of six, and I was sale number three. However, I’m now trying to persuade the other half to get a more sensible one for bigger trips, and with white roof and white steelies because I think they look amazing.

They’ve done an amazing job with the defender. Some don’t like it and that’s fine, it’s personal choice. But for me, my dad had an old 90 in the 70’s and all the way until the 90’s, and what LR have done is such a good job of modernising and yet retaining a classic design. Thumbs Up

Nice! Pretty much the same as my order! Interesting you were quoted July I was advised September, I hope I actually have an allocation... Have been advised I have an order in and it’s waiting for a build slot!

I have also gone for the 22s and contemplating swapping to the grey ones but will have to see how what they look like. Going to keep an eye out for a set of 20s on eBay for off roading and maybe winters. I have Sport contact 5s on my RRS in the summer and half tempted to get the same for the defender for road use.

Yes, will have to wait until I can see them (the grey ones). I imagine they’ve made black standard because it the black back door.

Definitely saying July to me, but I’ve been there before with LR and the ever changing build slot. Happy to wait until September for the new reg but even happier to have it for the end of the summer.

Disco is going in for its two year service on Tuesday so while I squat in their reception for a couple of hours, I’ll see if I can find out any more about allocation and build slots...they always seem much more relaxed once the order is in!

Yeah the black might look really good contrasting the matte PPF...

For you have a vista order form? Be interesting to see if yours has been slotted and mine hasn’t! I did a factory collection on my sport, shame probably not an option here as think it’s a full build in Slovakia not finished at SVO like an SVR.

Did you get the underbody protection too? I went for that as it means you can access the front row eye easily and it was cheeper to do it as part of the build rather than after.

I have confirmation of the order from the dealer, on the standard LR dealer order confirmation. Is there something else I should have or can ask for? It doesn’t provide a reference number on it but it’s the same form I normally get.

I’m going to add underbody when I adjust the spec, but want to wait and see the wheels before doing it and make the changes all at once. Dealer said not to worry too much as plenty of time and he won’t even talk dealer accessories at the moment.

You going for classic or standard mud flaps? I think classic. I’m going to have them fit the LR dashcam and the sidesteps. Hoping someone comes out with an aftermarket drawer/storage box to even out the load space before too long. I know the seats don’t go flat but could do without the big step they’ve ‘engineered in’; that is probably the only obvious criticism of the car, the rest of it looks amazing.
