2.4 puma 90 exhaust sound
Willfindlayless than a minute ago
Hi all, wanting to make my 2.4 puma 90 sound better, so I am looking at Allisport’s exshaust systems. If I just swap the centre pipe and the back box for a straight pipe system will it make it sound any better, or am I better removing the down pipe at the front for a decat pipe as well. If so, is this an easy job? I’ve heard thing about removing the cross member? Thanks will

as of now, 51 views and no answers...

So I'll say what the others thought... fit a td5 or a v8 Mr. Green
I've never heard a Puma sound 'good'. (seriously).

Thanks for that, I’ll pass had a td5 and won’t be having another. Puma is in a complete different league for comfort, towing, off-road and speed. Thanks

Worth looking at, and having a chat with Demand engineering https://demandengineering.co.uk/product/de...st-system/ they have done many systems for defenders and if it’s about the sound they can advise.

Ps great systems and a great price as well.

I have a Puma with the cat in place but no other silencers. Sounds much better, no louder than the standard set up unless you floor it. Engine revs much smoother, engine note also sounds smoother.

Looking at many of the posts on exhausts for the 2.4 or 2.2 (DPF) many people say the same as you Co1, which makes me wonder why on earth did Land Rover fit a middle and back box to either of these vehicles ! I really can’t think of why they are there.

I like the Alive one, still haven’t got around to getting one though.
Maybe this year....

LikeOMG - IIRC this is the one you have isn’t it from Alive? Small sports centre box and no rear box?
I have a straight centre only at the moment and rear box as standard.
CAT is as standard as it always was on mine, I’d only really be interested in CAT back personally. $W33T $0U7H3RN $UG4R

Mine sounds pretty much like that! It’s a 2.5” stainless with 3” tailpipe.
