Unless you're running rough roads all day or extreme usage off road I can't see the need for remote shocks.
Ive spent the past week or so looking at Fox and other makes and I would fit remotes as I'm likely to be using them in rough areas for long periods, however the pro 2's are a pretty good shock on their own from what I can gather through reading up on them. To make a good decision, you need to work out what you want to achieve with them as it's a slippery slope to spending too much money |

I have the 2.0’s without remote res. I’ve had B6’s and standard shocks as well in the same vehicle. The comfort on road is better on the 2.0 without question. The grip off road is better with the 2.0, again noticeably so. No brainier!

I’m already on the slippery slope to spending too much money, that just seems to be defender ownership in general.
I didn’t even really think I needed to upgrade the suspension but after reading how well the fox shocks have gone down, it seems I do. Suspension upgrade is now next on the to do list. |

Standard 2.0’s are great for lighter trucks but if you tow, travel loaded or own a 110 then adjustable will be much better. WARNING.

As per the ebay thread, the non-adjustable shocks can be rebuilt to adjustable spec, and with the current deal from JE it works out considerably cheaper than buying the adjustable ones at retail prices...

After much deliberation, I have finally committed to a full suspension upgrade.
Fox 2.0 shocks (plus protection boots) Eibach standard height comfort springs Eibach rear anti-roll bar Super-pro bushes all round All courtesy of Alive, should be fitted this week. Can’t wait. |

I carried out a fair bit of research when choosing my next shocks, and came to the conclusion I’m not going to be a heavy user of rough roads at speed and as such fitted the 2.0’s without the remote reservoir.
They had some work on a recent overland around the alps and they worked fantastically well on and off the road.
