Found thank you ...Dampers/shock absorbers
Wel after a trip to the garage the reason for my crashy back end is dampers that are knackered.
I was reading about Bilstein/Fox / Koni on here and they get good ratings.
A few people have changed from Bilsteins to fox shocks as they are less harsh and I wondered if anybody has any Bilsteins/Konis or similar that are in decent condition that they want to sell?

I really don’t want to put cheap shocks on and would rather buy used decent ones.

Cheers

Jez

You will notice a world of difference by just fitting new standard shocks, which are not terribly expensive. Darren

I fitted standard replacements and they are fine.

Circa £20 each. Rgds.

Do you mean standard as in genuine Landrover? Or standard as in britpart copies?

I think I also need to change the rear springs to something softer as well they are HD ones.

Armstrong are the old OEM manufacturers. They are very good value for money. Boge were the later OEM manufacturers.

Hi Mo,

So what you are saying is that I should look for a Boge damper set for my 90 and they will be exactly the same as LandRover genuine ones?

That’s a result Thumbs Up

Unfortunatley the word fine with regard to Defender damper selection is equally unsatisfactory as its use in a post coital conversation! Spend the money fit Fox(with boots) or Bilstein and you wont look back or bounce.

In the words of the younger generation that did indeed make me LOL Rolling with laughter

Unfortunately being in the world of self employment for not enough time to claim anything from the government through COVID, my finances are also post coital !!

I would dearly love a set of Alive comfort springs and Fox racing dampers to level out the North Devon roads but finances are dictating either some used decent dampers or the best value for money new ones I can find.

Or if it gets any worse I will have to walk around 😂

Thank you for making me smile though Thumbs Up

Bearmach do 3 year warranty dampers for not much money...

There's two ways I look at this.

They are probably costing about 4 cups of rice and they can afford to keep swapping them in the 3 years.....
Or they are actually going to last 3 years.

Or if you like, they know that you've put up with crap dampers for ten years, so you 'll fit and forget these, never having to warranty them...even if they fail after a trip to Mozzers..

Jez, there's a set going cheap here:

Ignore the fact that it says for a tdi - they'll fit straight on to your 90. Darren

Found some.
Thank you for all of your help , I’ve managed to find some Koni heavy tracks at the right price for me.
Hopefully have them on next week and no more bouncing down the road !!!

Cheers
