It’s definitely there. On the newer style doors the pin hole is not as visible as it’s is on older type doors. Having just gone through this change myself, I found the pin hole to be accessible from the inside of the rear door lock mechanism.
If you have the door lock off you need to look down inside the mechanism from the opening that the handle moves in. The pin hole might be covered in crud and dirt but it is there. You should see it behind the metal plate, Not on the outside door barrel itself.
