An early 80in which may be too far gone to salvage and rebuild but would yield some good parts I imagine. The mesh grills make good money on their own.

What a find
![]() A thing of true beauty and a million miles away from the imposter that carries the latest Defender badge. Did you get the opportunity to see if it was all complete and original? Hopefully nobody has stolen the dashboard clocks and other bits and pieces. |

I'll pass on the Morris 1100.
Although a maths teacher at school used to give me and a mate of mine a lift home in his Morris 1100 estate. Strange how you remember the weirdest things, but he showed us how you could change gears without using the clutch!! |

Did the teacher ever have to give it ‘a damn good thrashing’ John Cleese Fawlty Towers style ?

![]() There’s an Austin Maxi, an 1100, Bedford HA van, an early Metro and a Fergie tractor. I popped around today and a neighbour (retired cop....allegedly)came to see what I was up to, as the house has recently been bought as the original owner had passed away. The 80 has sat for at least 25 years, it’s all original, spade type seats in etc. There’s not much chassis or bulkhead left, i’d say 80% of each have literally blown away in the wind ! I left my number with the neighbour, as the new owner of the house wants the junk moved, but...... I’m in a queue. On reflection and after a second look, i think it’s just gonna be a panels donor ... i feel an 80 coiler being built ![]() Will update when I know any more. |

You don't often see original and apparently unbroken wire sidescreen hinges nowadays.

Or those early rear grab handles.
A lot of useful stuff there. |

True. A tailgate which has never had a centre rib is rare, too, a straight one even more so.

Unless the 80" bubble bursts some time soon, surely it must be worth rebuilding?
I wonder if the 1600cc engine and chain pull box are with it? Looks like it still has the L shaped towing plate below the rear cross member as well. (Or what's left of the rear cross member!!). |

Hard to say, but I would think doubtful, think Ship of Theseus. If it was a significant vehicle, like the first production vehicle, then probably, but restored it really wouldn't be the vehicle it is now.
It could be a small gold mine of parts to put others back on the road, however. Anyone care to estimate its value? |
