Most of us haven't even received our MY2021 cars and now they're announcing all that... feels a bit unfair? MY2021 Defender 90 P400 SE

Just repeating what the dealer said so can’t guarantee any of it.
To me looks like the end of the FE so logical they would add something to the SE (at what cost?).

Doesn’t sound like much difference overall at all. Only real new thing is the bigger screen which seems odd as it’s not much bigger?

Anyway, 25th was the date given

United Kingdom 2006 Defender 90 Other HT Tonga Green
I wouldn’t worry, anyone that puts in an order now will get the same 4 to 5 months build time so by the time they get theirs it will be nearly time for MY23 changes to be announced. Just something we all have to accept with coronaviris unfortunately.

I read that the First Edition would stop in February 2021 on the Land Rover website news section last year, it was only supposed to run for the first MY20 production year but got extended due to customers not being able to get into dealerships to place orders because of coronaviris.

To be fair those that ordered 20MY Defenders only just got their cars when LR announced 21MY and that’s a bigger change than 22MY will be. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

One things for sure the new Defender is a rare beast on the roads and that can only be good news for strong residual prices. The secondhand market will be huge imo for people that didn’t want to shell out the money on a new one.

From my experience with changes of model years when the car isn’t getting a major facelift it is the “toys” that get minor changes eg in September 2007 I bought a 2007.5MY TDV8 RRS at a significant discount over a 2008MY car - the differences between model years that year were the mobile phone cradle under the cubby box lid was replaced by the built-in blue tooth wireless system and the manual adjustment for the steering column became electric with a memory setting linked to the user profile for mirrors and seats, and a price rise.also that year Chawton White got changed to Alaska White and Bonnati Grey/Brown became Stornaway Grey. So don’t expect any “visible” changes for 2022MY. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

Do you really think that's how it works?

How can the market be huge if it's a rare beast on the roads new?

For a car launched in a pandemic, I’m seeing an awful lot of them (both in and out of town).
