door not closing
Good morning,

For the past few days my 2003 TD5 has the driver's door refusing to close...
Sometimes the locks hooks into the body but the door refuses to lock shut, sometimes nit even that... To make it stay close I need to put body pressure onto the handle from outside, or when inside, open the window so that I can slap the door handle with my hand...

Any advice?

If nothing else has changed in last few days, then it sounds like your lock has frozen up or the lubricant has hardened, stopping the lock from latching.
Spray with brake cleaner and re lubricate with graphite powder.

Also worth checking that the striker plate is tight and hasn’t moved.

Check also the striker where the lock latches to. That part is covered in plastic and if it wears of, then it’s effective diameter will be smaller and would not be able to push the latch sufficiently to lock. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing
