Scotland 2004 Defender 90 Td5 SW Yellow
[For Sale] 2004 Defender 90
Well, I’ve decided the time has come to part with my much enjoyed 90. I’ll be parting ways with LandRover products after about 25 years of having one, two or even three at a time. This has never been ragged off road and still has the original plastic shield under the gearbox etc which a lot lose over time through mistreatment. I have only used it to tow a caravan and carry the dogs, but having bought a MoHo and unfortunately only having one dog now I just don’t use it anywhere near as much as I should. I’ve got a Skoda Yeti arriving soon which will serve my needs more than enough. I’ve made up the list below which should cover just about most things that have been done or added to it. Having looked through Auto Trader at prices I think this one is priced to sell but if anyone on here thinks I’m off in my pricing please feel free to chime in. I’ll advertise on here first to see how it goes before I start anywhere else. Obviously the bulkhead and chassis are very good. Any questions etc please contact me. So here is my advert :-

2004 Land Rover Defender 90 Td5

75,000miles, yellow in colour, genuine station wagon from Land Rover Special Vehicles - not a converted van

Being a genuine S/W it benefits from :-
Factory fit sunroof ( new complete genuine pop up L/R unit fitted and sealed properly by sunroof specialist ), headlamp levellers, rear wash wipe, opening rear windows, rear seats with seatbelts, factory fit alarm / immobiliser

Only 1 previous owner

Always well maintained and serviced ( oil and 4 filters ) twice per year. Recent work includes:-
Full suspension and bush replacement with Boge shocks and Flatdog standard height springs with spring isolators fitted, galvanised turrets fitted at the same time although the originals were absolutely fine, I just predicted owning the motor a lot longer than this.
Front axle overhaul including replacing both half shafts and all bearings and seals etc and heavy duty drive flanges fitted
Fitment of very expensive new Blindo alloys with new 235 Michelin Latitude tyres including black wheel nuts and locking nuts.

Other maintenance that springs to mind includes full wiper overhaul with replacement of motor, cable drive and wheelboxes, rear halfshafts and drive flanges replaced with single piece units, injector seals and wiring harness, indicator switch/column, usual wheel bearings and brake calipers, pipes etc, was waxoyled when I got it nearly 6 years ago, brand new Yuasa battery February 2021

Accessories include:-
Hella halogen fog lamps via genuine L/R switch
Terrafirma LED spotlamps
Trucklite LED headlamps
Bumper/chassis mounted front tow points
PIAA two tone horns
Bonnet and wingtop black chequer plate
Snow cowel over wing air intake
Redbooster clutch servo for featherlight clutch properly installed by the UK importer incorporating extra vacuum reservoir etc
Full length medium duty galvanised Brownchurch safari roof rack with matching rear access ladder. This is not to be confused with cheap flatpack self assembly roof racks which look vaguely similar, the Brownchurch is the one to have.
Rear Labcraft LED S17 scene light via dash switch with LED telltale
Reversing camera suitable for lining up a trailer/caravan etc
Full set of mudflaps
Dixon Bate adjustable height towbar with ball and pin coupling plus spare slider with dedicated ALCO towing ball
7N and 7S electric sockets for trailer
Defendoor fuel cap cover
Fold down access steps for all 3 doors
MUD bulkhead removal bar
MUD seat risers for drivers seat - enables seat to be moved further back and reclined more for better comfort for taller drivers
MUD defender tunnel tray
MUD extra deep A-pillar trim panels
Heated ( two settings ) half leather Exmoor Trim seats
Bluesea double USB charger
Auxiliary fuse box with direct and ignition switched supplies for accessories
Dash mounted CTEK battery charging socket with battery status indicator
Heated mirrors via timer relay and genuine L/R switch with wiring installed for future heated windscreen upgrade
X-eng floor mounted stainless steel pedal lock with security key
Optimill quick release steering wheel boss
Optimill swivel lock with security key for above
Momo Jet steering wheel
Pioneer radio CD player with USB connection and Bluetooth connection for phone with microphone fitted
‘99’ wiper relay upgrade for variable intermittent wipe mode
Nakatanenga rear door hydraulic strut - keeps door open in high winds, adverse camber etc
Genuine Land Rover front floor mats
Pilar jack removed (they are a bit dodgy) and replaced with genuine Land Rover bottle jack

Original front seats, original rear seats ( currently removed as I kept the back of the 90 for my dog ), radio cassette player, steering wheel, original S/W spec spare wheel trim, two filter kits and various bits and pieces included in sale if asking price is achieved. I will also supply a set of original L/R steel wheels in white with used tyres if you wish. So, basically a purist could return this vehicle to near standard specification if so desired.

Being a later Td5 this vehicle has the improved 15p engine and pulls strongly and has the likes of Land Rovers Anti Stall technology. I have always well maintained and serviced this vehicle but I offer no warranty on it. Always starts first time. This genuine (non county) station wagon also benefits from having rubber mats and with no carpets to get wet and smell if you get in with your working or hiking boots etc.

I am asking £13,000 for everything above but will remove the Blindo alloys and fit steel wheels with used tyres if you wish to make an offer near the asking price. My personal registration is NOT included, the vehicle will come on a 04 registration and will be supplied with 12 months MOT.

As mentioned, please contact me for any further info. I’m located West of Glasgow.

Provisionally sold first thing this morning - thanks everyone for the interest and many PMs. If for some reason it falls through (doubtful) I’ll let you all know. Many thanks, Roddy.
