I prefer a solid paint for easy repair and polishing, less posh. but Yes, Carpathian Grey € 2500,- + White Roof € 1100,- = € 3600,- was an option.
I will have it respayed in a 4 layer Standox, Standofleet 2k, Slate Grey ( Porsche Paint to Sample, color 6601) Front and rear Skid/ Bumpers will be painted in a Silicon Silver Matte or a little bit more direction of Stardust Chrome as X Click image to enlarge No Mud flaps for my 90.! ----------------------------------------- P300s MY21 Keswick Green on air, adv.+ offroad pack, DRL+fog, Dinamica Suedecloth + Ebony headliner/Cross Beam- Many Mods.. |

Do you have a source for that? Crunching the numbers, Discovery production started in the final quarter of calendar year 2018 - so that's around 63.5k cars retailed (not ideal when looking at production I know) and Defender has wholesaled 36.1k - so that's the 100k, more or less accounted for. JLR never expected to be running at full capacity or indeed 2/3rds capacity until 2020; but from the get go it's been running at an average of just under 30% of capacity. That's a lot of extra overhead to carry. |

Perhaps not too surprising given that the defender is going to be entirely built there, and has only just started to ramp up this year. The production line for the defender will presumably have been under construction for most of that period... throw in a global pandemic on top of that and I’d say it all sounds about right? From what I've read the Defender and Discovery go down the same lines. So there's not been that level of disruption. |

I suppose my point was that the factory was intended to build both the disco and the defender at reasonable maximum levels once up and running, so presumably only turned out a fraction of the total number of cars it could build before the defender ramped up... I.e. the new defender isn’t stealing build slots from the disco, but ramping up production to fill capacity that was built into the factory setup. Cheers, David

These might have been staged for the photo shoot but here's a couple from official LR PR source showing Defender and a Disco 5 directly with each other on the 'line' Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history) |

I’ve no idea where it originated from, it was sent to me. Can’t see it on any of JLRs media sites. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue |

Didn't realise different models could be on the same line at the same time.
Also interesting to see what's actually behind the ugly square... I mean, signature graphic. |

Nothing new, D3s & RRSs trundled down the T5 line at Solihull together for many a year.

I didn't realise how small the rear side window aperture really is. |
