So did Discovery loose more sales to new Defender or maybe Mercedes with the GLE?

2020 results: E-SUV registrations fell by “only” 8% in Europe to 230,100 units. One in four of them were Sport E-SUV (aka coupe SUVs), led by the #RangeRoverSport. The rest of them were the classic ones, whose demand fell 7% #carindustryanalysis #felipemunoz #suv #largesuv https://t.co/8p1tr03t4Ghttps://twitter.com/lovecarindustry/status...11105?s=20

I don’t think that JLR do themselves any favours.
Look at the recent crop of You Tube Discovery 5 adverts.....as most of them are less than 30 seconds is JLR implying that if you are interested in a Discovery you must have the attention span of a goldfish.
What happen to selling features as benefits, show people how this is the vehicle for you, both at work, at play and for the family (COVID) staycation.
They just don’t know how to sell cars anymore because they were so used to people walking in and saying I want that one in this colour.
Last week the wife’s Velar was in for two days for a new flux capacitor (don’t go to 2051, just saying... ).
Instead of giving us a Discovery Sport loan car why doesn’t service speak to sales, look up on the computer ( it’s not as if they are busy) see what vehicles she has had, give her a call and say, would you like to demo a Discovery 5 for the two days.
It’s not rocket science.
If they can’t do that for a customer who has had a number of Land Rovers / Range Rovers over the years then Joe Public will go where they like.
