So I got the tyres mounted, putting them next to the existing ones on the vehicle I think they will be about the same size but I decided to not mount them on the car (no measure to be sure)
So plan now is Friday change them around in the garage and then I can reverse up to the garage door (from inside) and check properly if it will go in. But then came the issue of how to get them back home, tyres mounted take up a lot more space than just boxes with alloys, got 4 in but the other did not want to go in, so got inventive. If I did not have them extra two seats I think it would of been simple. Then seats may get removed at some stage 😂😂😂 Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.

Really helpful thread. Wheels are my next mod, so this has been on my mind.
Race.IT hoping all goes ok with getting the garage clearance. Sounds as though will be ok. DAZ110 your 90 looks ace. I keep telling myself Twisted wheels are off my option list, but then..... Off topic,,, Daz is your grille and headlight surround, gloss Santorini black? I was thinking of going semi gloss, but yours looks just right. |

Hi Black Puma, go for the twisted wheels, you know it makes sense.
Yes, grille and headlight surround are Santorini black. Was lucky to get it from eBay for a reasonable price and was local to me for pick up. Just had a few light scratches. I prefer the original look of the grill and light surrounds. Here’s a couple of other photos ( clean and dirty): Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Thread hijack! Sorry Race.it.
DAZ, your 90 looks so nice. The pics are good inspo! Agreed the standard grill/healight is hard to beat. I'm going to get that sorted, gloss looks good. Yours and Race's Twsisted wheels look so nice (plus many others on the forum). Was set on 18" Bowlers, but, if only they had a satin finish. Anyway, going to start my own build/mod thread. But thanks so much guys for the info and inspiration! And now I know my defender will fit in the garage with 18's |

Nice simple spokes, easier to clean.
I also like the look of the 16’’ twisted wheels with the right tyres. |

No worries for the hyjack
Cleaning was one of the things that put me off other rims and even the SMC version that looks similar. Hopefully tomorrow I’ll measure twice then stick them on and not crash into the door. Though twisted have stopped selling there wheels separately now so would be second hand route only Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing. 5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

Have the caps but thought better test without first as they are nicely wrapped up.
Have to do my brake disks at some time so they will be off in the near future Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing. 5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

So forgot to report back.
Height it did raise by about 1cm at the rear. I still got into the car park and with 1/2 a tank of fuel in. One thing I have not done is set the correct pressure in the tyres yet as my pressure gage was not with me (covid lock down means I can not get to it, and my tools) Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing. 5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |
