United Kingdom 2016 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 Heritage Edition SW Grasmere Green
50th Anniversary
A guide price of £40-50k! I'd have said 25-30

Doesn't look very original to be able to demand that sort of money! I guess it would take much to change the colour and put the right rims on. James

I can't quite decide from the advert but if it's a Japanese spec. one then that might be its original colour.

There's also evidence on the Defender50th forum that it was in Australia in 2019, which is slightly at odds with the description Confused Darren

Oh that's interesting, I thought it was only ever available in the (Atlantis?) Blue or Alpine White? James

Hmm, having just checked my books, it seems that Japanese ones only came in white but also with Boost wheels and cloth interior. I'd still hazard a guess that one is a Jap spec. version though. Darren

Looking at it, I’d say it is pretty original just a Jap spec one.

The boost alloys and a much wider selection of colours were available over there instead of just the Atlantis blue over here.

I do think it is a bit overpriced, on all the ones I’ve seen previously the UK spec ones do command a higher price than the Japanese ones.

United Kingdom 1989 Defender 90 Other SW Bonatti Grey
Not sure why the later side repeaters have been fitted.
Interestingly a quick check with the DVLA shows that the plate in the picture '5HPR' is a black diesel with 30k miles registered in 2014. 1989 90 4.3 V8

1997 Defender 110 300 Tdi CSW Alpine White
It's now been transferred onto S638JAH

It checks out as a Japan-spec VIN so I assume the reference to "160" is the Japanese numbering LR Workshop

It is definitely a Japanese 50th, they were available in Red, White & Atlantis Blue; white roof was standard in Japan spec 50ths as well. looks to be in great condition with a few cosmetic upgrades and an aftermarket exhaust. As for the guide price, that is somewhat ambitious i'd say.
This month Anglia Auctions have a white Ex Japan 50th in their classic sale guided at £22-25K and Brightwells have a restored GB 50th in their classic sale guided at £28-32K both of which look much more reasonable value in comparison. Is there such a thing as too many Defenders?....
