TD5 Exhausts - God of Thunder
So I think I am going to swap out my SS Griffin exhaust on the 110 for something that sounds a little less like The God of Thunder is mightily peeved this morning and is letting all the minions know about it.

It sounds amazing by the way, superbly manufactured exhaust and the company are brilliant.... but my neighbours have got to the end of their tether (something about 0600 being way too early) and so short of moving house this seems like the best solution.

The questions are...

Standard or SS? Cheap versus "not so cheap and sometimes crazy expensive"

What is the diameter of a standard TD5 exhaust? Assume 2.5" but could be smaller.

Double SS, have they improved? spate of terrible experiences five or so years ago.

What are peoples thoughts and experiences?

I really need something quieter to keep the peace Rolling Eyes

Hi Geobloke
i originally went for decat downpipe and middle silencer delete, but found it way too loud for round here (lots of horse botherers) so got a local firm to weld in a little silencer to replace the deleted massive silencer, suitably quiet at tickover with a pleasing growl when you hoof it.

Could you not ask Griffin to adapt your existing one with an add-in silencer of some description? Darren

Should have said, stainless (standard ) downpipe, stainless middle section (with straight through silencer welded in) standard rear section and silencer til it rots off then i'll replace it with stainless

Good call, the addition of the extra silencer made a massive difference on mine

Hi Darren. I have already and the bloke said absolutley. The issue is I am at the other end of the country from him and the 110 is my daily driver. Having said that I could try and source a second hand centre section and courier it down to him... Idea

That's an idea, I could buy a bigger silencer and get someone to swap the small Griffin one out... I presume BIGGER is quieter?!?

Everywhere is far away from Anglesey Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Any further and we'd say we were Irish...

Bromborough sounds very far away in my mind although I know it is not... I do like the idea of modifying what I have rather than buying an entire new system.

I did hear a nasty little rumour that British cars are being stopped and checked for de-cat'ing whilst touring Europe... Could be just Brexit-mongering but still the Germans take modifying vehicles very seriously.

I'd take repurpose and modify over replace every time. I guess when you're 30 miles out in the Irish Sea Bromborough can seem a world away.
As for the brexit conspiracies, a dummy cat should put the Erics off the scent!
