MY21 X-Dynamic SE - Carpathian Grey
So, I promise to post plenty of photos once I officially take delivery (assuming all goes well as you will read), but this past week I went to do a pre-collection inspection and test-drive (because I am that anal) and came across the fact that the rear doors were not aligned properly (see photos). I know I have seen evidence on this forum and on others but those were much earlier builds (early 2020s). Have others had issues with this and has it been adequately fixed -- or is this symptomatic of problems to come (leaks, rattles, sticky doors, etc.)? Right now, the dealer is handling the fix at a local body shop before I proceed towards purchase, but I thought I would reach out to all of you to get your opinions as well.

Thanks everyone - this forum has been a huge help, especially since it migrated from bashing the new Defender to discussing it.

You have to ask yourself the question how on earth did this get through final inspection?

I would have thought with optical alignment equipment this should have been rectified on the assembly line long before final inspection and certainly before it gets to the customer. Defender 90XS SW

At least they can’t fob you with the old “driving style” cop out as you haven’t driven it. Whistle

The only other Carpathian grey I have come across. It’s a lovely colour.

You will see on my photo that the bottom of the rear door window does not exactly line up with the plastic trim piece. The rest of the door is perfect though. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

It’s good LR have managed to export the quality control to Slovakia to enable the authentic Defender feel to each new L663 delivered.

Do they have the dipping tank at the new factory? The one where if the Defender doesn’t leak it’s sent back for rectification? Question Question

Not a drop. Dry as a bone, and it’s such a relief to have no bruises on my right elbow, no bruises on my left leg, my tinnitus has gone away, and the muscles on my left leg are just wasting away 😂 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

Well here is what I am working towards but they better fix the doors... Otherwise it is a spectacular vehicle... drove really nicely... no rattles at +70mph.

The body colour works well with the wheel colour. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

Thanks. I really liked how it came together. I was in the “powder coat them black” camp, but after seeing them with the Carpathian I am happy as is I think.

I recall reading an earlier post by you and it influenced me for certain. I was all over the door sills to look at that trim attachment and make sure it was flush. Thank you for the heads up.
