In response to the questions posed I am in the vicinity of Slough / Langley / Windsor and unfortunately I do not know anyone with extensive Land Rover experience. I am willing to travel for the right vehicle and had thought about aligning behind an AA full inspection as part of the evaluation process. If you have recommendations as to an expert who I could potentially engage all suggestions welcomed.

When I was looking last summer I found a number of good ones at this place which is probably closer to you

they seemed genuine, they just went too quick and I missed a couple of good ones.

This place near me maybe of interesting

Brooklyn 4x4 in Romsey. didnt buy from them but they are genuine and have had some work done . they seem to stock a lot of ex military as well. Defender D250 HSE

AA... worth considering, but I would guess that general inspection ok... for 'specialist' vehicles... you need a 'specialist'

2012 Defender 110 Puma 2.2 CSW Keswick Green

I purchased my first Defender 110 in October, which was a private sale, in North Norfolk! Although I did speak and view with Elliots in Chelmsford who were very professional, although there stock does not hang around. You may also look at Black Barn automotive, near Newbury, again the owner(Mike) there was very helpful and knowledgeable but didn't have a problem shifting stock. The problem has become finding the good stuff!

It doesn’t really matter,

But

You've put your question in the Tdci section and are looking for an 07 reg or earlier, for your info a pre 07 reg will be a Td5. (As in the better one

) not a tdci. I’d suggest driving both as they are very different vehicles to drive.

2008 Defender 90 Puma 2.4 XS CSW Aintree Green

New to the forum and found this thread post putting a deposit down on a 90 with Nene.... Squeaky bum time.

Tried calling Black Barn, no reply to multiple emails and calls. Moto-drome no inventory. Similar story everywhere, weeks of browsing various aggregator sites, no luck. Need the car by March so maybe have rushed into it. But so far Nene have been okay, volunteered to do touch up work etc, but can see the semi pushy side too.
