Ingenium D300 engine sound.
Had loads of requests to demonstrate what this car sounds like. I haven’t done outside, to be honest you can’t hear it at idle.

Sounds beefy inside. Here’s 0-60

When I saw the clip was 29 secs long I thought that’s a bit long for 0 - 60! Snigger

Very growly. Thumbs Up

It’s definitely no slouch. Much quicker than my D4 SDV6. I think it’s a full 2 seconds quicker to 60.

I would say the SDV6 sounded nice at low to medium revs, but thrashy at higher. The Ingenium straight 6 sound pleasant and very quiet at low revs, but gets its voice above 2500 all the way up. I’ve not overly tharashed it yet, need to get a few miles on it.

At idle you genuinely cannot hear it! (I can’t, but I am a touch mutton Geoff) 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

So begs the question, is there any physical difference between the D200, D250 and D300s? Can we look forward to some geek with a ‘pooter turning D200 into a D300, saving £7,250? Less said Geek’s fees of course. Thumbs Up

No idea Derek. All I can say is there is lots of magic stuff going on in all corners of the car. When you turn on the ignition, it comes to life. A bit of faint whirring and clicking as ecu’s start up.

I was sat in it reading the manual, engine and ignition off, very peaceful, when all of a sudden it let out a little hissy fart from somewhere behind! Wasn’t me I’m sure!

It’s got remote start on the app, and other than the brief sound of the starter motor, you cannot hear it start from outside. There is hardly anything coming out of the exhaust at idle. Weird! 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

Is there an actual paper manual?

Did you see if there is the Park Assist (Auto Parking) as per iGuide?

I’ve never found any park assist in mine and it’s not listed as an option either - used to be listed as parallel parking aid with the option of perpendicular parking as well. The last 4 LR’s I’ve owned had auto-park assistand I think I used it once to see how useless it was. TBH the parking / reversing cams are so good with the birds eye view and the on screen yellow guide lines front and rear the park assist isn’t necessary Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Simon. I don’t think it has park assist. It’s got some quite complex bits involving the cameras that I’m trying to get used to. Leave it with me and I’ll tell more later. I need to experiment with it.

There are no paper manuals. I’m reading everything on my phone, but I’m struggling with it to be honest. I prefer proper books. The online manual seems to take me round in circles. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

Even on a big iPad it doesn’t really work as when you want to find something, it takes you nearly there but then offers a whole load of linked pages that you might need to read in case you’ve missed something on another page. The only paper manual is a quick guide to the major controls. If you don’t have smartphone or a tablet to download it to you are a bit up the creek. A bit short sighted of JLR not to even offer a hard copy one for a couple of squids, not tens of squids, just a couple for those who might prefer something printed. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Simon it only has park assist in the form of cameras and graphics. It seems to create a virtual view of around the car, on the screen and makes lots of beeps when you get near to stuff. No evidence of auto parking. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

Thanks

Yes - the cameras - I am aware of.

But the 2021 on line manual (not the 2020) gives instructions on Self Parking - Parallel and 90 degreee.

https://www.ownerinfo.landrover.com/docume...c/G2398579

So maybe at some point there will be a software update - or this is a carry across mistake from the D5?

THANKS for looking...
