Mudstuff double din dash install question
Evening, I have a 2013 110 xs and the radio has packed up, I'm thinking of fitting a mudstuff double din dash, does anyone know if you have to extend the loom to fit this?

Basic answer is yes.

It depends which switches you have...and where you choose to position them.
Some will reach, but if I recall correctly I extended the loom for 3 switches.
Time consuming, but not difficult.

I have their kit and I did not have to extend the loom for any of the switches. I have a 2015 90 that's missing some switches (rear wiper switches, traction control, light leveling) so your mileage may vary.

Here's a photo of mudstuff's double din kit installed in my defender. The switch panel on the left side is from twisted.

Yes it is. I found this old picture probably on the original fascia not on the double din. I used a dremel to cut out the hole where the head light leveling switch usually goes. The checktemp screen fits there almost perfectly.

Cheaper than hiring a auto electrician to extend your wires, or splattering solder on your dash plastics Whistle

I made a few of these extender looms a couple of years ago using old modified switch bodies. Glad that someone has now manufactured the plugs for this. Really helped with my stereo install

These are amazing and make the job so simple. You only really need to extend 1 loom if you are careful about which switches you move across. I just extend tithe rear heated windscreen from memory.

Hi, I was wondering if you could tell me how you extended your wiring? Did you use solder or connectors?, if connectors which type are best suited? I am in the process of doing this upgrade and will have to extend switches, I could probably get away with one but would like to do three as it will allow the cables to have some additional length and leave it a bit more tidy (I get no one will see it but I just think it's better to do it to a good standard). I don't have too much experience of this kind of thing so would appreciate any advice.
