As far as I’m aware all 110 SW’s have air suspension as standard. I have no idea why there is such a price difference between HT and SW in favour of the SW other than are you speccing the cars with the same engine? Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

110HT is a D250 for some reason, acoustic for a chunk of the difference.

There’s £1200 difference before options between S SW and S HT models. Then as you say it’s another £1615 to add air as it’s not standard on HT models. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

I thought air was std on all 110 models, wrongly.

The difference in price I believe is all about the scale of economy
Ie, they will sell more fully seated higher spec vehicles than Commercials, hence to produce less cost more. It’s a bit like that stupidity within the industry that it is cheaper to build and park 20 cars in an airfield just to build one car that has been ordered by one customer. ( for example, not literally). |

Makes no sense when they’re built to order - elsewhere you can order a 90 commercial with a decent spec.

Also the HT Finance is now live on the LR page - Residually a lot lower than the 110 Car
Spec 90 HT and the 110 Car - I have on order - as a comparison. Residual 90 HT - 28% list price (4 years 24K miles) (£49K) Residual 110 Car - 47% list price (4 years 24 K miles) (£70K) |

Ah,ok. Maybe the 110 car starts with a 2.0 240 as the base engine? I haven't specced one so don't know. 110 HT starts with the 6 pot D250. I fancied the D300 but another 10k for an extra 50hp is just too much. My thinking for the 6 pots in the HT is they probably know they'll do a fair bit of towing nearer full capacity more of the time and LR think the 6 pot is a better unit for the extra abuse. Also, they probably know most HT users will want air susp so they make it a £1600 add on to earn a bit more. With so many old Defender pick up/hard top owners moved away to D/C pick ups, I thought they may be keener to attract some back. Seems not. |

Lack of air suspension is more to do with weight reduction and increased payload I think. Air suspension adds 70Kg reducing the payload from 800kg (spec dependent) to 730kg
All Hard Tops will have the new 6 cylinder engines 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue |

the other advantage of the commercial ones are
VAT reclaimable and MUCH cheaper VED / road tax ive ordered a 90 Hard top= gutted that I cant get it with AIR (can only be specced on 110) and also cant order it with leather seats its a £50,000 vechile FFS and cant get leather seats but I can claim the vat back, and use it for work /dogs so ordering a passenger 90 (with split level floor) and high road tax doesn't work either |

The coils are good enough and at least that’s one fault we definitely won’t see “air suspension system fault”

@J77
From what I've read on here about the robustness of JLRs software/firmware program code writing, it wouldn't surprise me at all if a coil based motor threw up an air suspension error at some point!! ![]() |

So with the HT, is it still £240/yr, plus you don't get the ridiculous 4 figure sum to pay in Year 1. |

That could be why but I suspect my suggestion why they don't put it on is nearer the truth. Good luck to anyone trying to get 800kg of stuff through the rear door. Not the greatest access for loading something really heavy into or trying to forklift a pallet in. |
