In general it is to run additional accessories off so that you don't overload the main battery. In my case this is so I can have fridge in the vehicle which runs of the auxiliary battery and doesn't effect the charge of the main battery if the vehicle is off for the day. 110 2.4TDCi

That to - although i know many people (like me) who run the winch off the main battery still and have a second (not like me on the 90 anyway) as a backup. Mike Last edited by mse on 22nd Mar 2009 5:52pm. Edited 1 time in total |

so did ylu do the conversion yourself? or have someone do it for you? if you did it yourself, what parts are used? like the sound of a second battery, as we are about to embark on a new activity called camping! and the appointment with the shrink is the monday we get back. The parts i used are from Devon 4x4 - battery tray - 2No PC1500 Odyssey batteries - 300amp Voltage sensing relay. Plus im also fitting a switch on the cubby box that links the 2 batteries together if needed

If you look on the BEP Marine site there are wiring diagrams there as for the wheel brace and chock, the wheel brace still fits in the original clips and the chock will just squeeze in

Good choice!! I have gone for the same setup but have gone for a IBS split charge system- it does cost a bit but for what I want I belive it will pay back what it has cost me. A dual battery system is a must if you are adding extras such as winches, inverters, freezers and also a good idea if you have many extra lights. Glyn |
