It might not be a ringer, it's possible that it could have been rebuilt and ended up like that perfectly legally. Unfortunately in this case i don't think it's been rebuilt, just cobbled together. With the amount of faults obvious in the pics and write up i'm sure a proper inspection would open up a whole can of worms.

That does rather make me think that the original vehicle went to meet its maker shortly after 2006, and another vehicle with the same identity appeared as though by magic 14 years later.
Alternatively it could have sat in someone's barn for 14 years before being rebuilt, after all the ad says "From chassis upwards there is not a part that as not been replaced" (although it is hard to explain the 80,000 or so miles covered in the barn in this case). I imagine that Eiffel Williams must be someone who chops up Ifor Williams canopies and bodges them together into something that doesn't quite fit properly afterwards. Possibly the same Eiffel Williams who pop rivets what may or may not be aluminium sheet (but could be hardboard) to the outside of a hi-cap tub for a reason which entirely eludes my imagination! That is a vehicle I would not bother looking at if I was in the market for one! |

The difference in mileage is probably due to the mileage of TD5 Defender where front bodywork, bulkhead, dash, engine and drivetrain etc. were sourced from.

Or there could be a genuine reason, such as been used on a private estate or farm.
