I’m specifying class 1 business use, because both me and Wendy use it in connection with her upholstery business.

Might be a lot cheaper if Wendy just used Betsy. Whistle Whistle

Just a thought and good luck with suggesting that! Laughing

Class 1 business use may not help your cause.

I have never known a zero excess policy? I think £200 is fair. I am not planning on smashing my motor up. It's hopefully not an annual or bi-annual thing and if it was, £200 would be the last thing I would be worrying about as I am sure the premiums would far out weigh the excess Laughing I believe that A-Plan will provide this as an extra to my policy, but not as standard, but from memory, it was only £30-£40 ish per year. Not enough to bounce the policy amount into £'000's

It is bizarre how different quotes are between different people on the forum for more or less the same car Shocked

I have never managed to get low motor insurance. I have a pre-existing medical condition which probably doesn't do me a lot of good. In the bad old days, insurers would refuse to give me cover. I believe that is now not allowed, but it doesn't stop the premium going upwards.

I know friends and colleagues who get cheap car insurance and I think sometimes they are very economical with the truth whilst answering the questions. It is worth remembering that any insurance company will take your premiums, but if you do have to claim, and it's not all whiter than white, you are on a loser.

I think it’s a result of living in SK 7 postcode. Nice area but lots of car thefts around here. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

However, we have other cars and they are reasonably good. Jaguar F Type on my drive, 3ltr S, worth about £30k. That costs about £500. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

Elephant £1400!!

Just rang elephant up to get up to date quotation on my incoming D250 90 and they said they can’t give insurance for it. Very strange when D240 was the insurance quote I got from them a few months ago. I hope the Defender isn’t going to be rip your eyeballs out insurance cover! Would rather lose my £1000 deposit and get another vehicle.

So I just went on confused.com but they don’t have any options for the 90 D250 in fact as soon as I put 3 door in the option it crashes so this is for 5 door D240 first edition 110 6 seats configuration. Not a bad price considering I said have zero no claims. But seriously these insurance finders and companies need to update their systems the new first edition models are D250!

Played around a bit. Adding a volunteer excess of £500, reducing business miles to 2k and private use to 8k gets it down to £759 with Bell insurance. However, that needs a smart box fitting. Cheapest non smart box policy is £868 with Admiral. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV

First Edition D250 with elephant insurance was under £500 for me I had a few extras on there so yours seems very high unless you’ve had car accidents and previous claims?

if that question was directed toward me, the answer is no claims/accidents up to this point and I'm also older in age. '21 L663 X-Dyn HSE P400 Carpathian

Did you manage to do your 90 spec J77? It kept crashing on me when selecting 3 door!

Not had success with that. Hopefully shouldn’t be that much different to the 110.

Had another play, interestingly they quoted on a 2.0 90 S, which I don’t think exists. I think all 90s will be 3.0.

But anyway it gives a rough idea
