Thanks James. I believe Brownchurch are still making the racks but have stopped making the tents now. They’re in the East End if London and have been there for a good few decades. At one time they were the only place to get racks and rooftop tents in the UK but now there’s a wider choice of tents so they just stick to the racks.
There’s more pictures and info at our (very old) website which can be found at http://a2b.uk.net/ Best wishes, Pete. Drink Coffee, Talk to Strangers and Take Photos. |

Thank you. I’m afraid I don’t know what the weight on the roof was - it was certainly over the limit recommended by Land Rover. The beefed up suspension helped though. I also remember reading at the time that the weight limit from Land Rover was partly dictated by the weakness of the gutters that would support the rack. The extra supports on my rack probably helped this a bit but certainly nothing untoward happened. Hope this helps, Pete. Drink Coffee, Talk to Strangers and Take Photos.

Major issue at the moment is - I have to deflate tires to 0.8 bars in order to put my car in the garage

This is interesting as I am planning similar. Has to be worth getting a cage to support the load?
