flatdog cargo shelf

Hi as anyone fitted a Flatdog upper cargo shelf . what i want to know is , If the gutter bracket fits in the gutter channel itself or under . the gutter channel , i think its under , as it says you loosen the bolts and slide in the slotted brackets .

The vague instructions with the shelf and the picture guide on the web page is equally useless .
I emailed them and was told it fits on top of the gutter ????? , Which contradicts what little instructions there are , As above they say loosen the bolts and slide in the bracket .

If it fitted on top of the gutter channel you would have to remove the bolts to do so , and there would be little point having slotted holes on the bracket , plain holes would do , . So a little confusing to me at least

They fit underneath the gutter.
