I can't speak for all insurers obviously but our insurers yes - having it specified on your insurance however gives you peace of mind. Greenlanes are public highways, if haven't been kept in a drivable condition then some insurers may query as to whether they are are still a public highway - therefore the specified off-road cover would come into play and you'd be covered anyway.

If we know you are using the vehicle for this then we will make sure you're on a specialist 4x4 policy so there is no quibble in regards to this if were to try and claim.

To my huge disappointment, I got a letter from A-Plan saying they can no. Longer insure me. Been with them for 5 years, with no claims at all.
May I ask you you went with? I’m now on th lookout for new insurance.

Insurance is a funny thing. I've just renewed again with A-Plan, the premium had gone up a whopping £2!!

I've previously insured with LV and found to be very competitive and happy with all mods. Might be worth a try? James

I ended up with Adrian Flux, ok with my minor mods and location.
However my insurance is due mid Jan 2021 so I am waiting to hear soon regarding renewal.

Just renewed with Aplan , no annual increase, all mods confirmed and value increased all for same price as last year.

no mods, but just renewed with NFU £50 cheaper than last year and i had a claim when i ripped the shark fin aerial off my roof ! great service as always

I think A Plan helped behind the scenes with the correct valuation of my Golf, very happy with the outcome but I could live without the ‘it’s worth £2.50’ from the insurer initially. All’s well that ends well 👍
