So if it’s just oil, oil filter and new sump plug the materials would be circa £80 and you would have 3 litres of oil left over if you did yourself. So they are charging £120 - £135 labour to do approx one hours work plus any of the checks and other fluid top ups, maybe even change your key fob batteries. However you will have it recorded on your history.

The next service at 6 years will include much more, including transfer box and front and rear diff oils so much more to be saved then if diy.

One thing to check yourself and get your Indy to do if they are doing the service is corrosion of body, window blocks, window frame, bulkhead , door pillars and sills etc as your 6 year corrosion warrantee is fast approaching and if anything is spotted you can take to a main dealer, point out the issues ( take own pics) and they can contact JLR to get it rectified. When doing this pick the right dealer and understand if they do the work or sub it out to a body shop. Some dealers are far better at getting JLR ok than others and you want to know the reputation of any body shop they use if not themselves.

In conclusion it may be worthwhile getting an Indy to do this five year service if they do the added corrosion checks for free while truck on ramps, and let you be present while they do so you can see and take pics.

Well yes still paying 120-130 for the luxury of them doing it as I wont do it in this weather and the added service record. I actually had the Trasnfer box, front and rear diff oil changed last year as part of the 4 year service anyway. I did want them to check and top up these (as its in the schedule for 5 year) too.

Im not too worried about the corrosion as I had the car treated by Zagato last year and since then I have been keeping on top of things with regular ACF 50. I did have a slight bit of corrosion repainted by dealer last year under warranty which was appearing at the edge of the alpine window.
