Oil life will depend on how you use the car I suppose and plenty of other manufacturers go 2 years between oil changes even in their rep-mobiles that often lead a very hard life. My own car is unlikely to exceed 16,000 miles in 2 years, might not even do 12000 miles if we keep getting lock downs. I’m sure if the car wants an oil change before 24 months it will tell you through the monitoring system that has highlighted the oil dilution issues in other cars. I’m like you though, no harm done in doing more frequent filter and oil changes, although I suspect with all that cladding under the car it might not be so easy to do as a DIY job as you might need an assistant to get those panels off to get at the drain plug Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

In this day and age don’t they just suck the oil out of a tube? Don’t suppose they have dipsticks?

My D240 has a dipstick - horrid long thing it is too, really difficult to get it back down the tube after you remove it to check the level.

My velar got its first service at 2 years old, no issues whatsoever. A lot of owners will exceed the mileage before the 2 years are up anyway.
Hopefully my Defender will as reliable (mechanically) as my Velars D240, I’m not a high mileage user, my LRs are my weekend toys if you like, my Velar will be 3 in January and will have just broke 15000 miles (would’ve been nearer 20000 if not for the pandemic). Sod’s law February will be when issues arise as it will be out of warranty for a month before the Defender arrives. |

Doesn’t look that hard of a job tbh but I’ll probably just take mine to local garage to change it after first year. |
