I dragged it out,
It drove back (slowly) I'm drying it out and oiling / servicing the diffs etc next This truck has literally driven miles, tumbled I don't know how many times and now submerged in water...yet it carries on Looking at where we were I never thought it would be that deep !! |

That's what happens when you don't have someone spotting or testing the depth. Don't make old people mad.
We don't like being old in the first place, so it doesn't take much to us off. Richard |

I suspect that that is exactly what the chap in the photo below said! The photo is one I took at an AWDC trial in 1985, and I think the trial was at a location somewhere in the Arundel area but I cannot recall the name. I have no idea who the driver is, perhaps he's a Def2 member now? The pond was frozen before he drove into it but it was pretty clear that it was deep and a bad move. The recovery took some considerable time and was not particularly easy, but it was entertaining and he did get his picture taken many, many times! Click image to enlarge |

And the farmer who owned this one!
Click image to enlarge As it emerged from the canal the radio was still playing. I'm afraid the engine objected to the submarine trials though |
