Find a good independent who you can trust and work with them to get things sorted out. Problem with the dealerships is that you can only shout at the person on the service desk as that's as far as you can normally get.

Shrekman - The techs were probably trying to get their efficiency bonus that day and left out anything deemed unimportant, like a bellhousing bolt or two... Rolling Eyes

with mine they left off exhaust fixing bolts, and left all 4 rear prop bolts loose and cross threaded !!! Thumbs Up spent 20 years fixing them ... the dealers just wont listen !!!!

I suppose you've checked turbo heatsheilds / sheilds underneath aren't rattling? If its had its gearbox out, something may be loose. Rolling Eyes

Bit of an update, dealer has now said they can't find a fault ( unlike anyone else ) and they won't be searching for something they can't find. Might ask them to take out the ear plugs when they do their little test drive ..... oh yes ..... they cover less than 2 miles !!!!!! Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter spent 20 years fixing them ... the dealers just wont listen !!!!

My first interaction with a dealer in a spa town about 10 miles north of Worcester was "OK we may have damaged some interior trim doing the warranty work, but its fixed now and no we won't replace the marked panels' (SWMBO's Freelander 1.8 softback), and at the Bards birthplace on the Avon I was told by the dealer principal "I don't care what the salesman may or may not of said, you bought the car, its now yours and if it won't do the expected MPG, tough" (SWMBO's second Freelander, a td4 auto)

Both dealers are pirates, but are angels when compared to the independant rogues who trade near Barrowby .................................

yup had same experience with the w@nkers at Stratford, out and out liars. Takes a special kind of company to lie to your face when you know its a lie and proceed to call LR from their deskphone who also says its a lie.

Wouldn't go anywhere near them.

shrekman - sounds like your woes are a repeat of mine
same problem in terms of engine and dealer.

all I can say is try somewhere other than Asda / supermarket fuel ie Esso and some 2 stroke oil

.........and let me know how you get on.

I'm just about to do a search and then possbily a thread regards my first service and warranty (or lack of) if I go to an independant rather than my local LR (colliers).
